Back in Portage la Prairie

18Dez2019

Hello to everyone,

from now on I want to write my blog in english. I have to be a little selfish now, because it feels better and I want to improve my english.

I´m back in Portage. I arrived back in Portage around 9 a.m. today. I think five days were enough. It was good and Clara and I we had fun. One other thing is because of the train. I drove around 18 hours to Sioux Lookout and back, because the train was by the both ways seven or eight hours to late. I know this is unbelivable compared to Germany. I heard the trains are mostly to late in Canada. I´m not sure which was exactly what I know is that there were problems with the train. I stayed overnight for the trip in Clara´s hostfamily. She has actually two hostsisters. Her one hostsister is also about Rotary for her exchange year in Brazil.

Our activities...

By the way. I met Clara´s counselor Sylvie. She is awesome and she looked after me very well. Clara lived for the first time with Sylvie togehter. So at my first day in Sioux Lookout in the evening Clara and I talked about Churchill by the Rotary meeting. In this Rotary club there are only 10 Rotary members because the population in Sioux L. is around 5.000 people. Another day we did volunteer work at the christmas market and Sylvie, Clara and I we sold the ice candels for $10 for Rotary. This is a very wonderful idea. The backround is actually sad, because you can buy it if somoene passed away or you want to support the Rotary Club in Sioux Lookout. To be honest, I did more shopping than support because I needed Christmas presents, but that was okay, said Sylvie.

We baked also the german cheesecake together with Sylvies german friend Sabine. She came with her husband 1995 to Canada. That was a good cake, but it didn´t taste exactly the same as the right cake with quark. Here you can not buy quark. And this is for here difficult to explain that. Whatever it was delicious.

The one day we drove with Ski-Doo snowmobiles. It was so exciting and so much fun. In the evening we drove with Hannah - Clara´ hostsister in the back. For one tome she then I.

I´m very thankful for this experience.

One day we went to school and I met Clara´ friends. There was a health class or something in this direction. We got a massage of devices adn ind the make-up lesson I paited my nails. Now you think I make a joke but I`m not. That´s carzy and so nice hahahaha.

Last but not least - the differnce between Portage la Prairie and Sioux Lookout is the Population and the typical picture of Canada. In Ontario corresponds to more than here. There are more trees and lakes than here in Portage. Here is flat.

Many thanks to in Sioux Lookout, because of the  because of the organize and you took great care of me. Nice to have met you.🙃

Okay I think I´m going to bed. Here is it almost 1:00am.

Good night and good morning for you guys.
